FAQ: Can you detect DNA in crude sample types using the Luna Mix?
We have had high success amplifying DNA from crude sample types using the Luna Direct Probe qPCR 4X Master Mix with UDG (NEB #M3055, #M3056). Some sample types require a lysis solution to effectively release the nucleic acids. Some lysis buffers contain harsh reagents that can inhibit qPCR. We recommend testing the effect of the lysis buffer alone to understand the baseline tolerance.
