Uber Perk: Boosting Employee Transportation Benefits
NEB provides an Employee Transportation Benefit program that allows employees to purchase MBTA commuter rail passes through pre-tax payroll deductions, and also providing free Uber rides between NEB facilities and MBTA stations.

The Perq program allows NEB employees to purchase MBTA commuter rail passes using a pre-tax payroll deduction, therefore reducing the cost of the pass. To complement the Perq program, NEB also launched a partnership with Uber that allows employees to use Uber, free of charge, to ride between NEB facilities and the nearest MBTA station. Participation in either of these programs is easy and offers the added benefit of ridesharing with fellow NEB commuters.
These programs are intended to make NEB more accessible and encourage the use of public transportation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ease roadway congestion, and reduce parking demand. It fits well with NEB’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
